Sodexo Youth Grants (Deadline: February 25)
Over 17 million children in the United States live at risk of hunger; that's 1 in 4 children who rely on free and reduced-price school breakfast and lunch programs as their only guaranteed meals. YSA (Youth Service America) and Sodexo are calling on young people, ages 5-25, to help make sure your peers don't have to worry about where their next meal will come from, and can instead focus on learning and leading healthy and productive lives. YSA will award 100 Sodexo Youth Grants of $500 each to support youth-led service projects that address the issue of childhood hunger on Global Youth Service Day (April 15-17, 2011.) We're looking for projects that engage your peers, friends, families, neighbors, Sodexo employees, and other

Friends for Change Grants (Deadline: March 10)
YSA (Youth Service America), together with Disney, is now accepting applications from youth around the world for the Disney Friends for Change Grants. The grant funds youth-led service projects that focus on making environmentally friendly changes and engage youth on Global Youth Service Day, April 15-17. The Disney Friends for Change program will award 50 $500 grants to youth-led service projects around the world that demonstrate youth leadership, creativity, and the commitment to making a positive impact on the environment. Sodexo School Engagement Grants (Deadline: March 18)
The Sodexo School Engagement grant program is designed to address the need to ensure that every child in the United States grows up with access to enough nutritious food. The programs funded through this grant will engage teachers and students, grades K-12, in learning about childhood hunger in their community, and in leading meaningful activities that facilitate access to nutritious food for all children, especially those most at risk. 10 grants of $5,000 will be awarded to teachers to implement a service-learning "Semester of Service" focused on childhood hunger, starting in September 2011 (Hunger Action Month) and going through Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week (November 14-20, 2011). Huggable Heroes Awards (Deadline: February 28)
The Huggable Heroes program recognizes young leaders between the ages of eight and 18 years old, doing extraordinary things in their communities or around the world to better the lives of others. Now through February 28, entries are being accepted for the 2011 search for Build-A-Bear Workshop Huggable Heroes. Ten Huggable Heroes will be selected and each will be awarded with a $7,500 educational scholarship

Annual DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards (Deadline: March 2)
The Case Foundation will generously award a total of $10,000 in grants to the best videos of 2010 found in the YouTube Nonprofit Program. Beginning today, video submissions will be accepted until March 2, 2011 when a panel of expert judges will select four finalists in each category, which include Best Small Organization Video, Best Medium Organization Video, Best Large Organization Video, and Best Thrifty Video (for videos produced for under $500). Ultimately this year's winners will be determined by the public. The YouTube community will have the opportunity to vote for the best videos among the 16 finalists from March 7th through March 11th. The winning videos in each category will be featured on the YouTube homepage and recognized at the Nonprofit Technology Conference in Washington D.C. on Saturday, March 19th, 2011. The winner in each category will receive a $2,500 grant from the Case Foundation. Winners and all finalists will receive a custom-designed MiniHD Flip video camera.

TED Fellows Program (Deadline: March 11)
The TED Fellows Program - an international fellowship bringing entrepreneurs into the TED community - is looking for 20 young innovators to be a part of their 2011 TEDGlobal Fellows class. The TED Fellows program handpicks world-changing entrepreneurs from around the globe, and brings them to the TED stage - literally and figuratively - to raise international awareness of their remarkable work. All TED Fellows participate as full members of the TED or TEDGlobal conference, as well as a two-day pre-conference event where they collaborate with their peers and deliver their own TEDTalks. The Fellows will also participate actively in the TED community throughout the year, telling their ongoing stories on the TED Fellows blog, contributing to TEDx events, being featured in the online Fellows directory and participating in a private TED social network. There are no monetary awards associated with the TED Fellowship. The program targets individuals from the Asia/Pacific region, Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Middle East, though anyone from anywhere in the world, age 18 and over, is welcome to apply. Forty Fellows will be recruited each year.

Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge (Deadline: March 15, 2011 - Activities

As citizens and future stewards of our planet, today's students are in a unique position to become active agents of environmental change. Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge - Encourages students from grades K-12 to team up with their classmates to create replicable solutions to environmental issues in their schools (grades K to five), community (grades six to eight) and world (grades nine to 12). The goal of the Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge is to do more than just give kids a chance to formulate an experiment and carry it out. Contestants explore an environmental problem that affects their community. As part of the challenge, students must also put together guidelines for how other communities could repeat the project, and they share those guidelines as part of the contest. Learn and Serve America Youth Engagement Zones Grants (Deadline: March 31)
The Learn and Serve America Youth Engagement Zones grants will fund schools and organizations to help students come to class eager to learn and graduate ready to succeed. The grants will provide up to three years of funding to partnerships that connect high schools, community colleges, and community organizations in a close collaboration. Youth will learn and serve in a defined geographic area - a "Youth Engagement Zone" - that includes schools and school districts in which 70% or less of the students graduate and 70% or more live below the poverty level. Subject to the availability of appropriations for fiscal year 2011, CNCS anticipates the availability of approximately $5.7 million for new Youth Engagement Zones grants. CNCS anticipates making an estimated 5 to 7 grant awards that will range from approximately $700,000
to $1,500,000 to support three years of operations.

2011 Craig Tufts Educational Award (Deadline: March 31)
The family of Craig Tufts, Family Summits, Inc. and National Wildlife Federation announce the 2nd Annual Craig Tufts Educational Scholarship Award, which is given to a young person between the ages of 8 and 18 to attend a week-long, summer outdoor educational adventure camp with a parent or guardian. The Craig Tufts Educational Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Craig Tufts, chief naturalist of National
Wildlife Federation. Each year the Fund grants an award to one youth to attend a Family Nature Summit. The Fund provides travel, room and board and program fees for the award winner and an accompanying parent or guardian. This year's Family Nature Summit will take place in the Ozark Mountain Region of Missouri, August 1-7, 2011.

For more than 10 years, and with $3.0 million in awarded grants, ING Unsung Heroes has proven to be an A+ program with educators. Each year, 100 educators are selected to receive $2,000 to help fund their innovative class projects. Three of those are chosen to receive the top awards of an additional $5,000, $10,000 and $25,000. State Farm Youth Advisory Board Grants (Deadline: May 2)
The State Farm Youth Advisory Board is a diverse group of 30 students aged 17-20 selected from across the United States and Canada. The Board plays a leadership role in designing and overseeing a $5 million-a-year State Farm® funded service-learning initiative. The Youth Advisory Board funds grants for student-led service-learning projects in the United States and in the Alberta, New Brunswick and Ontario provinces
of Canada. These grants address, in a structural way, the issues of environmental responsibility, natural and societal disaster preparedness, driver safety, financial education, and accessing higher education/closing the achievement gap. The number of grants to be awarded will depend on the number and quality of requests received. Grant amounts will vary according to the nature of the proposal and availability of funds. However, at least one service-learning project will be funded in each of the thirteen State Farm zones which include the three provinces in Canada. The minimum grant amount is $25,000 and the maximum grant amount is $100,000.
Applicants: To receive a grant from the State Farm Youth Advisory Board, organizations/institutions
must be located in the United States or Canada. Primary applicant should be either an educator who currently teaches in a public K-12, public charter, or higher education institution, or a school-based service-learning coordinator whose primary role is to coordinate service-learning projects in a public, charter, or higher education institution. Non-profit organizations are also eligible if they are able to demonstrate how they plan to actively interact with students in public K-12 schools.

Net Literacy Financial Connects Contest (Deadline: Rolling through June 30, 2011)
Net Literacy is a student-founded nonprofit where students comprise 50% of the board of directors. Thanks to support from State Farm, students from across the country to submit short videos that teach a lesson about the importance of financial literacy. Video entries win $100 to $500 and web-based games win $500 to $1000. We hope to give away $100,000 in prizes as students provide the content to build a national
financial literacy using their words to explain the importance of being financially literate. Maximum Award: $5,000 for multiple entries. Eligibility: all full-time or part-time students - videos and games can be developed by a student, a group of students, or a classroom project.
